0345L-THURSDAY UPDATE FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-2/1/18

Since I haven’t posted since last month, here are some things you need to know;

1- February is here and it’s still winter. Remember that colder weather and hopefully some precipitation will occur this month.

2-We are in a Governor Declared Burn Ban.

3-We have several fronts that will come through the area over the next week or so and a few MIGHT have some light precip with them and IF it occurs it will be light. I am not holding my breath on any of these systems.

4-High temps will average from the mid 40’s into the mid 50’s with lows averaging from the upper teens to the low 30’s

5-DON’T TEXT AND DRIVE AND HERE’S THE BIG ONE: DON’T SPEED THROUGH SCHOOL ZONES. I have seen roughly a dozen vehicles zoom through school zones this week. Maybe I should send reminders to folks by taking a picture that shows position, signs and speed. Those folks are very lucky I am not a Police Officer. Their budgets would have taken a hit this week.

6- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

TODAY- high near 46. North northeast wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts around 30 mph.

Tonight-Partly cloudy with a low around 18. North northeast wind 5 to 15 mph.

HAVE A SUPER DAY!!

MIKE
