0400L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-6/30/22

1- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Hot with highs in the upper 90s. South winds 15-25 mph.

Tonight-Mostly clear. Lows in the mid-60s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph.

2- Over the weekend, we will see temps mostly at 100 or higher with a heat index about 3 to 5 degrees above the actual temps, possibly higher. Use EXTREME CAUTION while working outdoors and stay hydrated. These will be dangerous temperatures to be working outdoors. Those subject to heat issues should stay indoors.

3- Concerning FIREWORKS:

It’s illegal to fire them off of a county road. Here is the STATE LAW;

FIREWORKS- TITLE 68, Article 16-Fireworks, Section 1627- It shall be unlawful to explode or ignite fireworks within five hundred feet of any church, hospital, asylum, unharvested, flammable agricultural crop, public school or where fireworks are stored, sold, or offered for sale. No person shall ignite or discharge any permissible articles of fireworks within or throw the same from a motor vehicle; nor shall any person place or throw any ignited article of fireworks into or at such vehicle or at or near any group of people.
