0400L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT- 3/13/25

FOR TODAY- the calm before the winds. The forecast below tells the story. It will be a little breezy as the day progresses but winds will increase this evening and overnight. There were a lot of controlled burning yesterday and those that did burn need to check and double check those perimeters and make sure they are completely out. I would ask that no controlled burning occur today but someone most likely will. Use EXTREME CAUTION AND PUT IT OUT COMPLETELY.

Overall for now, we’ll be ok so here’s your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. Highs in the upper 70s. Northwest winds around 5 mph, becoming south 10 to 15 mph this afternoon.

Tonight- Partly cloudy in the evening, then clearing. Lows in the mid-50s. South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

The above stated, as you’re aware, Friday has been upgraded to a RED FLAG WARNING. I will have a separate post by around mid-morning concerning this and a few other things to keep in mind as we approach Friday.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
