0315L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 03/07/24

*We are in a Slight Risk area for possibly some severe weather this afternoon and tonight. Main threats will be hail, winds, & torrential rainfall. Movement on the storms will be northeast once they get going. There is a chance for showers and thunderstorms this morning but they shouldn’t be severe. We’ll wait and see on this one. A cold front will push in later tonight so it will cool down quite a bit for Friday. One good thing here, it will knock the dirt out of the sky and we might see ½ inch to 1 inch of rainfall.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms this morning, and then later this afternoon. Some thunderstorms may be severe this afternoon. Highs in the mid-70s. South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

Tonight- Mostly cloudy. Showers likely with a chance of thunderstorms in the evening and overnight. Some thunderstorms may be severe in the evening. Lows in the mid-40s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph, becoming east 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Chance of rain 60 percent.

*I WILL POST SOME UPDATED GRAPHICS LATER THIS MORNING. They weren’t updated at the time of my post at 0315L.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
