0355L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-11/19/20

1- Warmer, windy, with higher humidity is on the plate for today. Controlled burning is not advised once again as we’ll have winds 15-25 gusting to 35 mph. Fire Commands will still be on stand-by as winds will still be a threat. Yesterday we assisted Grant County on a large range fire by sending Grass rigs from Kremlin Fire and Hillsdale-Carrier Fire District. There was a structure fire in Covington and there were a few fires here in the Enid area too. No injuries, that I am aware of to report. So far, all is well.

2- We’ll have a front come through on Friday, thus the wind gradient, and there is a chance we “might” see some rain activity over the weekend. Rain is something we need. Hope it happens.

3- During the winter months I will be talking about the fire danger quite a bit so hopefully you don’t get bored with it. We have several areas around the county that we don’t want fires to occur due to dangerous terrain especially at night. We’ll discuss this later.

4- Overall another windy and warm day so unless you like eating dirt and whatever else is blowing around out there, stay inside and enjoy the day. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. Highs in the upper 70s. South winds 15 to 25 mph.

Tonight-Clear. Lows in the mid-50s. South winds 10 to 15 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!!

MIKE
