0300L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 10/31/24

*IT RAINED!! Thank you to all of you that gave us your rain totals. It varied around the county and beyond. It was also nice walking out of the building at work not breathing dust and smoke but actually clean renewed air. The rain will help keep the dust down now for a while and additional rainfall late Friday through the weekend will continue to keep the fire threat and dirt down over the weekend.

*The rainfall is not a drought-buster but hopefully it was enough for the farmers that have been sowing wheat and other crops. One thing to keep in mind will be the possibility for flash flooding over the weekend. Depending on the amount of rainfall, we may see flooding in low lying areas. Just be careful out there if we do receive higher amounts of rainfall.

*There is a risk for severe weather on Sunday and Monday so we’ll see what Mother Nature sends our way. Cool today and over the weekend so get outside, take a deep breath, cough if necessary, and enjoy clean-cool air.

Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny, cooler with highs in the mid-60s. North winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight- Clear. Lows around 40. East winds around 5 mph.
