0320L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 10/30/24
*SLIGHT RISK for severe weather later this afternoon. If timing works out and we do see the storms, winds 60 to 80 mph, golf ball size hail, and a low tornado risk will be our main threats. Timing appears to be late afternoon into the early evening hours. We’ll watch and advise.
*The higher fire risk will be out west today as a dry-line works its way across the state. As this storm system moves through the area later today, winds will veer to the southwest and eventually the west. Any active fire in the region will change course so if we have ongoing fire at that time, firefighters will have to pay close attention to that threat also.
Overall, we’ll be ok. Hopefully waiting for some rainfall to knock the smoke and dirt down.
