1- The wheat around the area needs about 1-2 inches of a good soaking rain. We may get lucky come Thursday when another storm system moves across the area. I am not holding my breath but I am hoping that we do see the moisture. Our best chances, per guidance is Thursday afternoon through Friday. Temps will average in the 50s and 60s through early next week and winds appear to stay mostly under control through this time period. We’ll see what happens.

2-I have been asked about our severe weather season here. It’s coming and when it hits, it will hit hard. HIGH WINDS, HAIL, TORRENTIAL RAINFALL, LIGHTNING, and maybe a few Tornadoes, could be in the picture this year.  ARE YOU PREPARED?? Every year when we become targeted by a strong possibility for severe weather, we get hundreds of calls about what to do. For over 20 years we have put out info concerning this and we have been innovative by providing you with tools to at least help you be prepared. USE THEM. GCEM.ORG is our website and it’s loaded with information. Our PREPAREDNESS GUIDE IS UNDER “docs” on the website. You can download it so you can reference it from your phone or computer.

3- In my preparedness world, we came up with an app. GARFIELD COUNTY EM. It’s free to you so all you need to do is download it, go through it and learn how it works and you will also receive NWS ADVISORIES AND WARNINGS along with important info from Emergency Management. Download it. If you don’t have our app, you are NOT PREPARED and keep this in mind; our app just might save your life and the lives of your family.
