0330L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 04/03/24

*Download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. You’ll receive advisories and warnings “directly” from the NWS, in detail. You’ll also receive information from us in Emergency Management.

*As you know, Tuesday was windy. We’ll be windy again today with north winds gusting 35-40 mph late morning into the mid afternoon hours. Winds should lay down, to near calm as they did last night. Clouds will be around this morning but should move out by noon or so, possibly sooner. We’ll see if that verifies. The fire danger is elevated here today.

*Later this week into the weekend we will have a chance for more severe weather and fire weather conditions will increase depending on where that dryline is located. We’ll see where things line up in the next day or so.

Overall, for today, we’ll be ok, just a bit wind-blown. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. Highs in the lower 60s. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

Tonight- Clear. Lows in the mid-30s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph, diminishing to around 5 mph after midnight.

FINALLY, AS STATED YESTERDAY: WHAT ARE YOUR WORST FEARS WHEN SEVERE WEATHER OCCURS? “EMAIL” me at mike@gcem.org so I can base some information towards those questions. Your names will remain confidential but hopefully we can help you with those fears.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!
