0420L-WEDNESDAY WEATHER UPDATE FROM GARFIELD CO. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-1/17/18

1- At 3:45 am, its 4 degrees with a wind chill at -7. Personally, this type of cold can go back to the arctic and STAY THERE!! OK, drank some coffee and the MADNESS has dissipated.

2- This polar high pressure is slowly moving to the southeast and we’ll be warming back up. By Saturday, we might see some temps in the 60’s while overnight lows will be in the 20’s and 30’s. I just hope this severely cold weather will kill off some of the insects. Overall, improving conditions.

3- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN; TODAY-Sunny, with a high near 36. Wind chill values as low as -6. South wind 5 to 15 mph gusting to 20 mph.

Wednesday Night-Clear, with a low around 21. South wind 5 to 10 mph.

4-This winter, as you all are now aware, has been anything but normal. I ask folks to download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app for many reasons. 5- We are NOT your news source; we ARE your EMERGENCY PUBLIC INFORMATION SOURCE. We will never send out false alarms. Our app will serve as that source.
