0410L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK & INFO FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MGMT-3/11/2020

1- Storms remained in Kansas last night and so hopefully everyone slept well. Today should be ok so if you can get outside, it’s supposed to get into the low 70’s!! ENJOY!!

2- I have received many calls over the last few weeks concerning COVID-19. What everyone needs to do is SETTLE DOWN. The media is hyping this as something so terrible and stating it’s the worst thing to ever happen. Not true. You’re more likely to catch the normal flu and be out of it for a few days. If you are sick, STAY HOME, USE DISINFECTING SPRAYS AROUND THE HOUSE, WASH YOUR HANDS, AND HOPEFULLY YOU GET BETTER. Covid-19 appears to be taking its toll on the elderly and folks with various medical conditions. You can go to the CDC WEBSITE, https://www.cdc.gov/ and actually research this for yourself.  Do your homework and don’t let the national media or social media be your only sources of information. By the way, we do have a plan with the HEALTH DEPARTMENT in the event we need to implement it.

3- Weatherwise- here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

TODAY- Partly sunny with a high near 71. North northeast wind 5 to 15 mph gusting to 20 mph.

TONIGHT- Mostly cloudy with a low around 53. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

I added a new Average Last Freeze graphic from the NWS.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!!

MIKE
