0400L-WEDNESDAY UPDATE FROM ENID/GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-9/26/18

OPENING STATEMENT- The cold front came through and the winds blew.  We were a little dry for rain but it is occurring along I-40 at the time of this report. Movement is east and we’re not expecting any today.

1-Today will be cool with highs in the upper 60’s so enjoy the cooler weather. High temps will fluctuate as we transition into the winter months so it may be time for some to get the sweaters out.

2-Enid will be hosting the NORTHWEST EMERGENCY MANAGERS CONFERENCE in June 2019. Yes, I volunteered us so we’ll see what we can come up with program wise. We hosted this a few years ago and spent a day at VAFB among other training over the course of 3 days so we’ll see what happens in 2019.

3-I need each business or company to send a safety person or a representative to our Resilience Seminar on October 30th. People need to be prepared for ANYTHING that could occur. You want to know what to do and how to structure your disaster plan, then attend our seminar. This is your chance to learn what to do and how to take care of yourself, your business partners, and most important, your family. Go to gcem.org, scroll down to the middle of the page and read the details on the seminar and then RSVP.

4- Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Cloudy, cooler. Highs in the mid 60s. Northeast winds around 10 mph.

Tonight-Mostly clear. Lows in the mid 40s. Light and variable winds.

HAVE A SUPER DAY!!

MIKE
