0300L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 4/28/23

* A cold is moving our way. Right now, it’s partially clear and a few stars can be seen but this frontal passage will bring cloud cover and that additional rainfall chance and gusty winds back into the picture. Severe weather is expected all along the Red River in Southern Oklahoma and North Texas today so if you are traveling that way, stay weather aware.

* For our area, additional rainfall amounts of an inch or so are possible. We’ll see where this sets up and rains. For the week, so far, our gauge has received 3.75 inches of rainfall at work and totals vary around the area.

*The Drought Monitor still has us in an EXTREME DROUGHT but understand rainfall was ongoing as determinations were made so next Thursdays information should be closer to reality if that’s the right word to use.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Patchy fog and showers likely in the morning, then showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the mid-50s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph, increasing to north 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain 90 percent.

Tonight-Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening, then a slight chance of showers after midnight. Lows around 40. North winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
