0335L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-6/18/21

1- The heat will continue through the weekend and then a cold front will push in sometime late Sunday night or on Monday. Rain chances for our area are low but cooler air is coming. We usually don’t see this strong of a front at this time of the year but if it will kill the heat for a few days, it’s a good thing. Forecast high for Monday and Tuesday will be in the low to mid 80s. 😊

2-Overall, just stay hydrated while working outdoors, keep an eye out for smoke and fire and call 911 asap so the correct response can be sent. Make sure outdoor animals are tended to and don’t leave kids or animals in a hot car. Broken windows may occur. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Friday-Sunny and hot with a high near 101. South wind 10 to 15 mph gusting to 25 mph.

Friday Night-Mostly clear with a low around 72. South wind 10 to 15 gusting to 25 mph.

3-REMINDER CONCERNING FIREWORKS- It is illegal to fire fireworks off of any county road. Don’t let those that sell fireworks tell you differently. If you start a fire, be prepared to pay for the damages and possibly the response. Harvest will not be over so read the info below very carefully. See below:

FIREWORKS- TITLE 68, Article 16-Fireworks, Section 1627- It shall be unlawful to explode or ignite fireworks within five hundred feet of any church, hospital, asylum, unharvested, flammable agricultural crop, public school or where fireworks are stored, sold, or offered for sale. No person shall ignite or discharge any permissible articles of fireworks within or throw the same from a motor vehicle; nor shall any person place or throw any ignited article of fireworks into or at such vehicle or at or near any group of people.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!
