0245L-FRIDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-5/26/23

*This post also appears on the GARFIELD COUNTY EM app under GCEM BLOG*

* Looking at the satellite loops this morning; You could see why we’re in the pattern we are dealing with. This is why computer models need to be used. It is impressive but we will remain in this pattern, it appears through “at least” mid-week next week.

* The severe threat will be located along the Texas/New Mexico border area today so if you plan on heading that way this weekend, stay weather aware. Around here, rain chances are very low BUT keep an umbrella handy. Showers will push into Oklahoma similar to yesterday but may or may not reach our area. Severe weather not likely for now.

* Overall, we’ll be ok, just continuing to be soggy, so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Partly sunny. Highs in the lower 80s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight- Partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 50s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.

FINALLY, some drainage areas are full of water, snakes are roaming around now so keep the kids out of the water. If you live near any drainage areas, keep that eye out for those sneaky snakes. They will surprise you when you least expect it.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
