0310L-SATURDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 02/10/24

*There are no watches or advisories for our area as of 0245L this morning. The storm track appears to be taking a southerly track meaning that heavier snow will occur to our southwest. This said, we could see around an ½ to 1 inch of snow but it won’t occur until we drop down to freezing temps which may not be until early Monday morning even if then. There are still many variables but I will tell you that we’ll see rain later tonight with maybe a mix if we get cold enough. On Sunday, per guidance right now, we ‘ll be around 40 degrees so rain will be our main mode of precipitation.

*The storm track is the main issue right now as it appears it’ll take the core of the system along the Red River or a bit more south. We’ll wait and see where this mess ends up but as of now, school is on for Monday!

*If you want to keep up with what the NWS/NORMAN is stating, here is a link to their website- https://www.weather.gov/oun/ You can go here for the graphics as I won’t post any since they seem to be changing every couple of hours. ALSO, download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app and any advisories or warnings they put out for our area will come through the app automatically in detail. Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Partly sunny. Highs in the lower 50s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight- Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of rain showers in the evening, then a chance of rain after midnight. Lows in the mid-30s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
