0400L-SUNDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-5/8/22

1-Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Sunny, breezy with highs in the mid-90s. South winds 15-25 mph gusting to 35 mph.

Tonight-Clear. Lows in the lower 70s. South winds around 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

2- Warm and almost hot today with strong south winds are expected for the next few days. Humidity will be low, around 20% in the afternoon so be careful with anything related to fire. The Fire Danger is critical out west today and tomorrow thus they are in a RED FLAG WARNING area. We are in a CRITICAL area so if you see smoke or fire, call 911 immediately.

3-Preparedness is something you do every day. You prepare for work, ball games, meals, school, trips to activities, and just about anything you do. Storms are very important along with driving. Severe weather is something that can cause anxiety & panic, if you watch tv, and it can cause you to make bad decisions while under these conditions. This is why if you are prepared for the storms & know what you will do, given any situation, that level of stress will lessen a lot.

4- Preparedness and awareness are needed especially if you drive or ride. Not paying attention, not understanding road conditions during anytime of the year can also cause major issues. Working with and in emergency services, we know that not paying attention for just a second or two can be the difference between life and death depending on where we are driving. Just plan ahead and pay attention to what you are doing along with road conditions, weather conditions, and all around conditions. It could just save your life and the lives of others.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
