0320L-SUNDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 10/06/24
*A cold front is pushing towards the area and should arrive sometime early this morning. This will bring a drop in temps and gusty northeasterly winds. Unfortunately there won’t be any rain with this one either. Per forecast guidance, there isn’t any rain chances in the forecast for the next 7 days but the fire danger will elevate due to the additional drying effect that strong winds provide. Temperature-wise, we’ll “average” in the mid to upper 80s all week.
*Overall, we’ll be ok. Here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
Today- Sunny. Highs in the upper 80s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
Tonight- Clear. Lows in the lower 50s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph, diminishing to around 5 mph after midnight.
*We ask that there be NO CONTROLLED BURNING today and on any day that the winds are above 15 mph. As dry as we are and with humidity forecast to be low, this only helps the fire environment. We appreciate it. If you see smoke or fire, call 911.
*Be sure to download our GARFIELD COUNTY EM app. You will need it as we move towards winter.
HAVE A GOOD DAY!
