0400L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-1/14/21

1- “WIND ADVISORY” IN EFFECT UNTIL 6PM THIS EVENING: WINDS 25-35 WITH GUSTS UPWARDS OF 55 MPH ARE EXPECTED. This may turn into a high wind warning so be prepared for that too. Broken limbs still up in trees could become a hazard as these winds could dislodge them allowing them to fall to the ground. Whipping power lines could cause fires. Use extreme caution while driving especially on east/west roads.

2-The FIRE DANGER will be up there due to low dewpoint temps and humidity and of course the winds. As stated, if you see smoke and or fire, call 911 immediately. There should be NO CONTROLLED BURNING TODAY OR FRIDAY.

3- Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Partly cloudy in the morning then clearing. Windy. A chance of sprinkles early in the morning. Highs in the lower 50s. Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to around 45 mph.

Tonight-Clear. Lows in the lower 30s. Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
