0315L-THURSDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT 05/09/24

*GARFIELD COUNTY EM is our notification app. Keep up with the latest from us and the NWS.

*PLEASE let us know if you had damage out in the rural areas. Email me at  mike@gcem.org or mhonigsberg@enid.org or damage.ok.gov and the state will coordinate with us.

 *ON FRIDAY BETWEEN 10 AND NOON, we will be testing new equipment to set off our storm sirens. The new speaker sirens you see out there self test each day and we know when there’s a problem. The older sirens don’t this. Either way, we have new equipment in our ops room and at 911 dispatch to set these off and the only way to do this is test each locations equipment. Since it may rain next week, we’ll do the testing tomorrow. The sirens will go off twice, once from my office, then 911 dispatch. We’ll even do a verbal test. Just wanted to let you know and let your neighbors here in Enid know too. No need to panic.

*Weather-wise, we look good through Sunday then later Sunday evening that chance for rain shows back up for all of next week. There is a chance for severe weather so we’ll keep an eye out.

*Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Sunny. Highs in the upper 70s. North winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight-Mostly clear. Lows around 50. North winds 5 to 10 mph.

Finally, we are looking to change the way we do live on social media already you all can see the imagery better. Be patient, it will get better. We’re also including a MUTE button. 😊

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
