0255L-TUESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-12/13/22

1- Strong thunderstorms were moving into the area as I started this writing. The intensity of the storms here is decreasing as the line was moving east. All severe tags have been removed and so just enjoy the rainfall, the lightning and thunder. Unfortunately, the line is moving northeast at 55 mph so rainfall totals shouldn’t be too high and this won’t probably affect our drought issues.

2- After this line moves through, we’ll expect a front to come through later this afternoon and then we’ll see cooler temps FOR THE NEXT WEEK OR SO.

3– We are in an EXTREME DROUGHT. Just be careful utilizing anything related to fire. Call 580-234-FIRE (3473) for controlled burns.

4– Overall, we’ll be ok so here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Sunny. A chance of showers and thunderstorms this morning. Highs in the upper 50s. Southwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

Tonight- Clear. Much colder with lows in the mid-20s. West winds 10 to 15 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
