1- GENERAL RISK FOR THUNDERSTORMS LATER TODAY AND TONIGHT. IF they occur, heavy rainfall, lightning, gusty winds, and hail will be possible. We’ll see!!

2- PLEASE PASS THE FOLLOWING AROUND: Shooting off fireworks out in the county on a county roadway is ILLEGAL. Roadway meaning, FENCE TO FENCE. Many folks are already doing this and fires are starting to become the result. If you own property or have permission from a landowner, it won’t be a problem. Rural departments, sheriff deputies, and I will be patrolling around the county and we will remind you about this. According to state law, “It shall be unlawful to explode or ignite fireworks within five hundred (500) feet of any church, hospital, asylum, unharvested, flammable agricultural crop, public school or where fireworks are stored, sold or offered for sale. “No person shall ignite or discharge any permissible articles of fireworks within or throw the same from a motor vehicle; nor shall any person place or throw any ignited article of fireworks into or at such a motor vehicle or at or near any group of people.”

3- Yes, we received a lot of rain in May and June but we are now very dry. Some folks have stated they read in a paper that they could do this out in the county. YOU CAN as long as you own the land or have permission. If you are on someone’s land, make sure you know the name of the land owner. Many landowners don’t take lightly to trespassers.

4- Enough there, here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;
