0320L-WEDNESDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-5/31/23

* The General Thunderstorm pattern will continue one more day when according to guidance, this ridge that we have grown accustomed to, will break down and we will transition to a more widespread rain pattern. This pattern will last from Thursday, through the weekend. Severe weather is not expected but with high precipitable water values, instability being higher, warm conditions, and a low level jet now involved, it could get interesting. The biggest threat would be wind and hail along with flooding rainfall. We’ll see what happens.

* Other than above, we’ll be ok so just stay weather aware and we’ll keep you up to date.

*Here is your countywide forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today- Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 80s. South winds 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight- Mostly clear in the evening, then partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Lows in the mid-60s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
