0335L-MONDAY OUTLOOK FROM GARFIELD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT-8/01/22

GARFIELD COUNTY EM is our preparedness and notification app. You want to be and stay prepared? Download it today!!

1- The cooler weather made for a good break from intense heat. It was a little humid but nice, cool, and warm. Get ready, for today we return to hot and muggy conditions. The one thing we have going for us is the wind. Our high temps this week will be back in the 100’s so that means we’ll dry back out again and the fire danger will return. That said, here is your forecast from the NWS/NORMAN;

Today-Mostly sunny. Hot with highs around 100. South winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 25 mph.

Tonight-Partly cloudy in the evening, then becoming mostly clear. Lows in the upper 70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

2- As per controlled burning, call 580-234-FIRE (3473) to conduct a controlled burn. We are NOT in a burn ban but if you start a fire and don’t call it in and we are dispatched for it, we WILL put it out, especially if you aren’t there. Controlled means you are there watching it, not just keeping an eye on it from some other location! We thank you in advance.

3- Overall, we’ll be ok so protect yourselves from the heat, stay hydrated, and stay safe.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
